Behave

Tend to rest on our laurels
Like it's all moral
To let forethought and cause
Be orchestrated by our royals,

Of oratorical and written history
Our fore founders and traditions be
Inexplicably
Fixed rigidly,

Little heeding to meaning
Or purpose we just serve
As servants surfacing
With little to no coercion

We all discern the rowboat
Isn't propelled by it's own wake
Awoken we hold sway
The oarsman hold the pace,

Keep it straight and afloat
Know when to coast or start stroking
The founders are foundering
Letting the boat overflowing,

We're sinking or capsizing
Forecasters denied the rising
Massive tidal wave
Do we act rightly or behave.

mice & men

The heightened schemes
Of mice and men
The two species meet
With equal means to an end

The selfish needs
To get the cheese
And keep it
Complete disregard for indecent

Keeping what isn't ours
With boundaries cowardly
Shrouded we scour
Reaping and devouring

Outwardly spreading disease
With negligent ease
Our pedigree seems
We're an identical breed.

Non duality

We live duality
In our reality
Backwards opposites
Distracted cognizance

It can't be that if it's this
White can't be black
Sad can't be bliss
There's no passion as a passive pacifist

Tragedy can only breed misery
Sensitivity turns pity
If you've lived with these griefs
You believe a bit differently

These hinderances we keep
Intrinsically in everything
To shelter our naive comforts
Against uncertainty ascending

Acceptability to what is
Without measuring metrics
Or separation, segregation
Life is gray yet iridescent.

Respect Yourself 2

I've heard you can't get respect
Unless you earn respect
The reverse is just as correct
When self-worth gets neglect

You can't give respect
When it isn't in you to give it
It can be reciprocal
But love lives within intrinsic

The dividends aren't divvied
Through difficult hard-living
We all wither regardless
So harness equanimity

We've got equality
Whether you like or not
We're of this Earth plot
We all rocking the third rock

We walking in birkenstock
Or whatever you trodden on
Down-trodden or lost
I regard you, let your guard drop

Does not serve anyone
Or anything
Steadily make pedigree
Develop empathetically

If we respect ourselves collectively
We get the temperament
Of reverence for everyone
Become one connectedness.

Loves worth the effort

Hope to cultivate
An inner vocalization
That stays outspoke towards hate
In any form or shape

When my own state gets
Overstimulated and triggered
I will be bigger than spontaneous
Inclination to bitterness

And dissonance with resilience
To shame and malice ways
Stay straight like balance beams
Through the shadiest alleyways

Retaliate against hate
With geniality and grace
Gratitude and praise
Compassion passiveness passé

How we proclaim treatment
Seems to be based on how we treat each other
With a little extra effort
Might discover love unearthed.

Give Up Indifference

It's oft forgotten more often than not
The common paradox
Inherent in our
Common place cause

It's hardly camouflaged
That it's far more optimum
To give than to receive
Yet we keep reaching with cupping palms up

We're at odds
Rather gain others acknowledgment nods
Carving wild tales
Like modern Scheherazades

At what cost? To what ends?
No regard to false facades
It's merely fluff to garner followers
Hypocrisy flaunt

God forbid we aren't in spotlights
Outright competition we exhibit
With anyone
Who gets within our jurisdiction

No position is worth resistance
To coherency consistent
With brotherhood, sisterhood
Wish we could give up our indifference.

Inclusivity

Living a life of striving
Yet not arriving
Always grinding the grindstone
Though it slowly becomes sloped & misaligning

Broken with unfocused
Slicing and dicing wide open
I look foolish trying to use these tools
With fueled emotion

Is it hopeless? knowing what to fix
Is an enormous riddle
Drilling holes into surfaces
Just to return and fill them in

With formative middle, juvenile years
Unfortunately drear
Jeers from teachers & peers
Steer us into fear

Inferiority complex
A minority outcast
Logically nonsense, yet
It's plausible in contrast

To the support that's offered to blossom
Whether or not you fit in
With the prim and proper scholarly
Pompous obnoxious dipsh*ts

Distance from this split philosophy
Seems harder and harder to achieve
It's a mockery in a time
Of "tolerance" and "equality" sheesh.

Shed the Shell

If your identification
Based upon possessions
You'll be facing a regression
Relating to inner essence

An extension of self maybe
But parading gucci sweaters? prada dresses?
Versace faux leather
Whatever you call expression?

If that's how you reflect yourself
With a projected hubris
You've consumed yourself with
This delusion of consumerism

Assuming you've got something
Beneath the costume
The clown suit, you've become a clown
Ronald Mcdoonald

A prop of corporate ruin
Cultural skew of wholesome values
They trash values
Have to dig deep through refuse

Landfill, to find what really fills
You up with substance
Instead of substance filling up at max
Suffering succotash you'll suffer fast

Upperclass habits
Can be traded for the basics
Of practicing daily gratitude
Of our integral human nature

Unwritten

You can be a well-versed
Bookworm in nature preserved
But unconcerned with the nature
Of learning in the real world

Real virtues be lost virtually
Personal improvement is stalled
And distorted a shortage
Of evolution involved

The exposure to vulnerabilities
That are needed for growth
Instead focusing on minutia
The confusion of control

Coordinated subordinate
No equitable position
Except the orderly resources
The illustrated and scripted

To explore the unwritten
The unlimited composition
With literature is a window
To live through it is true living

Collaboration Collective

I'm tempted to believe
That everyone is against me
In these disconnected times
Divided by intersecting lines

Yet I know no-one intends
To resent another
Even when we offend each other
Its through discontenting hurts

In our selves
The impression kept that we're vetted against
Yet we all live with this pain
We're more connected than credited

It isn't me against you
Or us against them
With such envy and resentment
It doesn't come to better ends

That transcend
Tensive, pensive expectations
Thirst will never be quenched then
Only dehydration

So escape the expectations
And change this perception
For the connection to others
Collaboration collective.
